Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzing financial statements and credit reports to determine the creditworthiness of potential clients.
- Assessing risks associated with lending and determining the credit limits for new and existing customers.
- Preparing detailed credit reports and making recommendations based on their findings.
- Reviewing loan applications and ensuring all required documentation is complete.
- Utilizing credit scoring systems to assess applications.
- Ensuring all credit activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintaining accurate and thorough records of all credit-related transactions and correspondence.
- Monitoring the performance of the credit portfolio and identifying potential risks.
- Preparing regular reports on the status of the credit portfolio for senior management.
- Assisting in the management of overdue accounts and implementing strategies for collections.
- Assisting in the loan approval process and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Meeting with clients to discuss their financial needs and providing guidance on suitable credit products.
- Negotiating terms and conditions of loans with clients.
- Providing ongoing support and advice to clients regarding their credit and financial health.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in any reputable course but a Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration will be an added advantage with a Minimum of 2:2.
- Must have completed NYSC
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
- Good knowledge of Excel
- Good writing and communication skills
- Must possess strong analytical skills
- Experience as a Credit Risk Officer in a finance company is an advantage.
