Job Description:
- Are you a talented and motivated individual interested in generating and distributing evidence that addresses critical issues in Nigeria’s agrifood system? Vestance, a data, intelligence and advisory firm headquartered in Lagos, seeks an Analyst and Research Intern.
- In this role, you will be mentored by industry experts and contribute to research initiatives that promote sustainable agricultural transformation in Nigeria, empowering agri-businesses and governments with high-quality and data-driven insights.
Responsibilities:
- Support lead experts to conduct in-depth research on food system policies, regulations, and trends in Nigeria.
- Stay abreast of local and international policies impacting the food system.
- Learn how to utilise databases, surveys, and other tools to gather and store information on food system dynamics.
- Analyse and synthesize data to identify key challenges and opportunities in the food industry.
- Support lead experts to analyse financial reports, market studies and trends in trade and export
- Participate in meetings and discussions to understand the needs of various stakeholders in the food ecosystem.
- Prepare reports and blogs on research findings, trade opportunities, policy recommendations, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Recently completed a Degree in Agriculture, Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum of Second Class Upper 2:1
- Willingness to learn, analytical-minded and can adapt to new challenges and tasks
- Keen interest in finance, policy and sustainable food system transformation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Nigeria’s food industry and policy landscape (a plus).
Eligibility:
- Must either be a recent graduate waiting to serve or recently enrolled in the NYSC program
- Applicants who have completed the NYSC program are not eligible
